When it comes to receiving your online shopping, the last thing anyone wants to hear is that their package has been stolen. Unfortunately, package theft is becoming more and more common, and it can be a real headache.
One of the biggest retailers in the US is Walmart, which is no surprise given that they sell pretty much anything and everything. So, if your Walmart package has gone missing what do you do next?
If the courier has marked your package as delivered, but it’s nowhere to be found, check to see if the driver has left you a delivery notice.
This will usually be on or around your front door. If you can find one, it might contain some indication as to where they might have your package. At the very least, it will give you some indication that you’re the delivery driver was there and your item likely was too.
If Walmart tried to deliver your package when you weren’t at home, the courier may have taken steps to hide your items somewhere out of sight to keep them safe.
This could be under furniture, behind a plant or even with a neighbor. Make sure you have a good look around before you start to panic that a thief has swiped your delivery.
Believe it or not, it can be quite easy to order an item to the wrong place. Whether you’ve recently moved house, previously sent something to a friend or just accidently input a type – this is a relatively common reason when a package goes missing.
Checking the address you used when you ordered will give you a bit more insight as to where your package may have ended up.
If you really think your package may have been stolen, then it’s time to contact Walmart directly.
Walmart doesn’t have a specific policy regarding stolen or missing packages, but they recommend waiting two business days after receiving a delivery confirmation to see if it appears.
After two days, head over to Walmart where you can use their online chat service. It can also be helpful to file a police report and send a copy of it to Walmart’s team to help their investigation along.
From there, allow 24 hours for Walmart to reach back out to you with a response regarding a refund or replacement shipment.
